Ransom's Trophies and Awards Information

As a tournament director or a member of a tournament committee you have placed a great deal of responsibility upon yourself.  In part you are responsible for creating an enjoyable tournament for parents and spectators, a competitive tournament for the young athletes, and a profitable tournament for the organization you represent.  A big part of doing all three of these things hinges on the awards that you choose to present at your event.

When purchasing awards many factors come into play.  Are they quality awards?  How do we get them to the tournament site?  Do we have to pay in advance?  What is the cost?  Like you, these are all questions that I have asked myself as a Tournament Director for youth, Junior High and Varsity tournaments alike.  These are also the same questions that I have addressed as the owner of Ransom’s Awards and Trophies.

Are they quality awards?  Simply put, YES!  I only use marble and wooden bases in order to provide a heavier award while also avoiding the top-heavy feel that will often come with the light award bases.  I also only use thinker walled columns so that awards have a “meatier” feel when held.  Finally I only use the highest quality top-figures and trim to give the award an overall High-Quality look and feel.

How do we get these awards to the tournament site?  I have been in your position before and know first-hand the pressure you are under in the months, weeks and days leading up to your tournament.  It is for this reason that I hand-deliver every order free of charge.  Your awards will be delivered to your tournament site on the day of the tournament or even the night prior while setting up for the tournament.  Simply put, once you order with Ransom’s Awards and Trophies you can safely delegate the responsibility, and worry, onto my shoulders so that you can focus your energies elsewhere.

Do you have to pay in advance?   No, I will vary rarely ask for payment upfront, if ever.  Because I have been in your position before, I know full well that many youth wrestling organizations do not have the funds to pay for needed items prior to the tournament.  The tournament profit is used to later pay for awards, officials, food, etc.  I am more than content in waiting for payment until after the tournament.  The “norm” is to make payment upon delivery however.

What is the cost?  I have learned in my time of providing awards to youth organizations that I am able to beat the prices of 99% of the brick and mortar stores and beat or match the prices of 90% of the online companies that exist.  That being said, awards come in all shapes, sizes and designs.  I attempt to keep pricing very simple for your sanity and ease; and quite frankly for my sanity and ease.  Below are pictures of a very commonly used smaller award along with a commonly used larger awards.   Keep in mind, the prices listed do not include the earned discount through pywrestling.com

I hope that you are able to use these prices to gain a better understanding about the quality of the awards that I can provide and respect the prices that are offered all while embracing the customer service being provided.

As I mentioned above, I have learned that keeping things simple is often the best route when working with larger organizations.  Because of this philosophy I adjusted prices based only only a couple factors.  They are:

1) Height of the overall trophy

2) Width of the base  (This typically means trim vs no trim)

3) One column vs Two columns vs Three columns vs more

4) Quantity of awards ordered

Other details like column color, type of trim and number of characters on the plate NEVER effect the cost.  The type of topper will occasional effect the cost but very little if ever.
